Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 23) — At the same time the KathNiel love team was flourishing on the screens, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla confirmed a romantic relationship had also been brewing.

The Teen King and Queen confirmed they have been together for over five years.

"Officially? Basta more than five years na," Padilla said on Wednesday during the media launch of their upcoming movie "The Hows of Us."

The pair, who has starred in numerous TV series and films since 2011, have been posting sweet photos together with equally "kilig" captions, but they have not officially confirmed their relationship, until now.

The revelation is timely as they are starring in "The Hows of Us," which deals with the struggles of a young couple in a long-term relationship.

Bernardo and Padilla agree that love and being in a relationship is a daily decision that partners make — and they choose to be with each other every single day.

"Sa isang relationship, hindi smooth palagi. How did we save it? Kasi gusto namin. Choice niyong dalawa. Iyun ang pinili naming dalawa and I think I made the right choice," the 22-year-old actress said.

Padilla added, "Lagi siyang desisyon. Ako, lagi akong bumabalik."

He said being together in reel and real life poses challenges, but they make it work.

"Sa estado namin ni Kathryn, sa personal magkatambal at sa trabaho magkatambal... Namimiss ko pa rin siya kahit araw-araw kami magkasama. Desisyon namin yun bilang partners," the 23-year-old actor said.

Padilla said he makes sure to be on his toes all the time to be a great boyfriend to her.

"It's a 24-hour job na maging malupit na boyfriend. Hindi pwedeng maging komportable ka, kapag maging komportable ka, wala kang gagawin. Kapag dumali, magiging kompoertable ka masyado, hindi ka mag-eeffort," he said.

The pair has worked on several TV shows and films such as "Princess and I," "She's Dating The Gangster," and "Barcelona: A Love Untold."
