Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — After months of intense training and thorough preparation, the Miss Universe 2016 contestants are weeks away from the prestigious pageant.

Andrea Bezděková of Czech Republic did some last-minute shopping for the perfect outfits to wear in the Philippines.

Kiran Hassal of Malaysia dressed up in a Petronas Tower-inspired costume. It's unclear if her futuristic silver jumpsuit will be her national costume in the Miss Universe pageant.

Days before she is scheduled to fly for the Philippines, Miss USA Deshauna Barber does the rounds of media in her country with reigning Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.

Hours before her flight, Barber remained optimistic despite dropping her bag in a puddle: "Who cares, I am going to the Philippines!," she said in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

Miss Thailand was one of the first contestants to arrive in the Philippines for the pageant. Chalita Suansane arrived in style on Tuesday, donning a tailored Barong Tagalog top cinched with a belt and paired with white wide-legged pants.

The Philippines' bet, Maxine Medina, was given a send-off party on Tuesday.

A very confident Medina says she is 100 percent ready to fight for the crown.

Rhett Eala designed Medina's national costume — along with 11 other outfits which she will use for various Miss Universe activities. But they are keeping mum about the design of the outfits.
