Metro Manila (CNN Phlippines, April 30) — A fire hit the City Hall branch of popular Baguio City spot, Café by the Ruins, at noon Sunday.

The Baguio City Fire Department said the blaze reached second alarm, but was extinguished in less than 30 minutes.

Customers were eating at the restaurant at the time of the fire, and were evacuated along with employees.

Investigators are still on site and conducting investigations to determine the cause of the fire.

"We'd like to update everyone that our staff and guests are safe and we thank you all for the concern. We are handling this emergency as diligently and efficiently as we can," the restaurant's management said on its Facebook page.

There are two Café by the Ruins branches in Baguio City. The original City Hall branch was built in 1988.
