Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 21) — Longtime tourist and traveler favorite Café By The Ruins shuttered the doors of its original cafe after its management decided they can no longer rebuild in the same location.

In a July 20 Facebook post, the restaurant's management thanked the people who patronized the cafe for 29 years.

"We had a beautiful farewell gathering and we would like to thank each and every one of you, from the bottom of our hearts, for making Cafe by the Ruins what it has become," the post read.

"Our hearts are filled with so much gratitude for the support you have given us for the past 29 years. Our journey will definitely not end here," it added.

The restaurant is requesting its patrons to share their memorable photos in the café to create a "virtual memory wall," with a play on its name and hashtag #cafebyetheruins.

A fire, which reached second alarm, razed the restaurant on April 30.
