Police said the Partas bus was northbound at Barangay Bulbulala in Santiago town when a tire blew and the driver loss control of the vehicle.

Laoag City (CNN Philippines) — Two died and 29 other passengers were injured when a Partas bus rammed into a Redval bus on Friday night (November 13) in Santiago, Ilocos Sur.

Chief Inspector Greg Guerrero, information officer of the provincial police identified the killed passengers as SFO1 Jenny Rose Cadaoas, member of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Vigan City and Reynaldo Pineda, a vendor from Santiago town.

Guerrero said the Partas bus was northbound around 8:30 p.m. at Barangay Bulbulala when a tire blew and the driver loss control of the vehicle.

"The bus then collided with an approaching Redval Bus driven by Sonny Galano," Guerrero said.

Pineda died on the spot while Cadaoas died at the Candon General Hospital.

The injured victims were brought to various hospitals.
