PH table tennis ace Lariba books place in Rio Olympics

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Filipina table tennis ace Ian Lariba booked the last ticket to the 2016 Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro after triumphing in the the Asian Olympic Qualifying Tournament on Saturday (April 16).

According to the International Table Tennis Federation, Lariba secured the last available spot in the Olympic games.

Ranked 324th in the world, Lariba was a member of the South East Asian Games delegation and was crowned as the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) athlete of the year in Season 77.

Lariba is the lone Filipino delegate in table tennis in the upcoming Olympic games.
