Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 1) — There will be a new ONE Championship lightweight king.

Filipino fighter Eduard Folayang and Amir Khan of Singapore will battle for the title on November 23 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced the bout on his official Facebook account Monday.

Last September 28, reigning champion Martin Nguyen has relinquished his lightweight crown after sustaining a knee injury during training which makes him unable to defend it in the coming months.

A proud member of Team Lakay, the 34-year-old Folayang (20-6) had collected a string of victories to earn a shot to reclaim glory.

Meanwhile, Khan (11-3) is a promising young talent who has won eight of his last nine fights.
