(CNN Philippines, January 16) — The Philippine Azkals took their final bow at the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.

The Azkals suffered their third straight setback at the hands of Kyrgyzstan, 3-1, Wednesday at the Rashid Stadium in Dubai.

Facing a must-win situation, both squads tried to establish control in the early part of the match.

Vitalij Lux was the thorn on the Azkals' side as he scored a hat trick (24th minute, 51st minute, and 77th minute) for Kyrgyzstan.

One bright moment for the Philippines was when Stephan Schröck scored the Azkals' first goal in the history of the tournament at the 80th minute.
