MMDA: Road closures on Sunday, July 15 for Iglesia Ni Cristo event

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 15) — A number of roads in Manila will be closed to vehicular traffic on Sunday to give way for the participants in an anti-poverty event of a religious group.

The launch of the Worldwide Aid to Fight Poverty event organized by Iglesia ni Cristo will take place on July 15 at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.

According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the road closures on July 15 are:

  • Stretch of Road-10 from Moriones to Delpan Bridge
  • Stretch of Bonifacio Drive from Delpan Bridge to Katigbak Drive
  • Stretch of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to P. Ocampo
  • East and Westbound lane of P. Burgos from Lagusnilad to Roxas Boulevard
  • Finance Road from Taft Avenue to P. Burgos
  • Westbound lane of TM Kalaw from M.H. del Pilar to Roxas Boulevard
  • Westbound lane of Pres. Quirino from M.H. del Pilar to Roxas Boulevard

MMDA advised motorists to take these alternate routes:

  • Vehicles on Southbound lane of R-10 going to Bonifacio Drive shall turn left on Moriones Street to point of destination
  • Vehicles coming from Pasay area using the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall turn right on P. Ocampo Street or use Roxas Boulevard service road to point of destination
  • Vehicles coming from three bridges (Quezon, McArthur, Jones) using the southbound lane of Roxas boulevard shall go straight on Taft Avenue to point of destination
  • Vehicles from Ayala bridge going to Roxas Boulevard shall turn left on Taft Avenue, right on T. M. Kalaw, left on M. H. Del Pilar St. to point of destination
  • Vehicles on the westbound lane of Pres. Quirino shall turn left on Mabini St. to point of destination
  • Heavy vehicles and cargo trucks shall take Pres. Osmeña, to Pres. Quirino going to Nagtahan via AH Lacson to Yuseco to Capulong to R-10 (and vice versa).
