Campaign Trail: April 7

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Here's the latest from the campaign trail on Thursday (April 7).

Administration bet Manuel "Mar" Roxas took his campaign to Western Visayas where he met with workers and local leaders in Guimaras, and also visited Antique and Aklan. He said he remains focused on the campaign and shrugged off Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte's latest criticism as well as the pronouncement of the camp of Sen. Grace Poe which dismissed him as a contender in the presidential race.

Meanwhile, PDP-Laban bet Mayor Rodrigo Duterte went to Palawan where he made the rounds in Puerto Princesa. He paid a courtesy call to Gov. Jose Chavez Alvarez and Puerto Princesa Mayor Lucilo Bayron.

Independent candidate Sen. Grace Poe was in Eastern Visayas where she held a motorcade in Borongan, Eastern Samar. She also visited a provincial hospital, a market, and a transport terminal, and also held a mini rally in Mondragon.

Vice President Jejomar Binay was in Quezon City on Thursday, where, in a speech, he said one presidential candidate would kill even more people id he won the presidency. Binay, however, did not name names.

Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago has been off the campaign trail for a month but she is not letting any issue pass without giving a comment via social media. In her latest post, Defensor-Santiago said the country should stop depending on the U.S. for its national security. She also said she will be in UP Visayas next week.
